Chet Green was a TV news anchor and reporter at network affiliates in the Midwest and South.
He also appeared in industrial videos, fashion and automotive ads, and Clint Eastwood’s “In the Line of Fire.”
After serving as a navy journalist in SE Asia during Vietnam, he worked his way through the University of Michigan where he majored in English and journalism. Soon after graduating in 1973, he made the first of four trips to the African Horn principally to see nomadic cultures. His photos and articles were published in Africa and the U.S.
He has trekked in Ethiopia, Somalia, the French Territory of Afars and Issas (now Djibouti) and the Sudan where he rode a camel with Hadendawa swordsmen, Kipling’s immortal “Fuzzy Wuzzies.”
He is saving for a blue-water sailboat.
